Altiris To Buy Pedestal Software For $65M In Cash

Publicly-held Altiris Inc. has agreed to acquire Pedestal Software Inc., a
provider of system security management software, for $65 million in cash, in a
move to broaden its security management offerings. Newton, Mass.-based
Pedestal's compliance and vulnerability audit software is used to audit, assess
and enforce a consistent level of system security. The company raised a $5.3
million Series A round in February 2003.
